we attempt to complete as much of the patient roster of the Hiawatha Asylum as
possible.
Drawn by renowned Lakota artist and pictoral archivist Arthur Short Bull,
each portrait represents his vision of an individual patient using only their
name as a guide. Over time we hope that each documented inmate of the
asylum will be recognized here - and even some that were not documented
might be remembered as well.
